The Siuslaw Public Library District is a stand-alone local government and taxing district covering a patchwork area across western Lane County. The District is governed by a five-member elected Board of Directors and managed by a Library Director. The Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for crafting and approving policies for the Library District, while the Library Director is responsible for ensuring these policies are implemented on a day basis. The policies reflect the mission of the Siuslaw Public Library District, federal law, and the laws of the State of Oregon. These policies are also guided by the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights and Professional Ethics statements.
