The monthly board meeting of the Friends of the Siuslaw Public Library, Inc., will take place on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Bromley Room at the Florence library.

​

Monthly board meetings are normally held on the fourth Thursday of the month, except November and December, when they are held on the third Thursday.

Labor Day Book Sale

​

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Friends of the Library Book Sale a success! We are so grateful to the dedicated volunteers who organized and staffed the sale, and to the many friends and neighbors who came out to buy books and book bags. Your support helps strengthen our library and keep it thriving for the whole community.

Greeting Card Workshop

​

Saturday, September 20th 30, 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Bromley Room, Florence Library

​

Come join our card making workshop. We’ll be turning old books into beautiful handmade cards. Yes, we tear pages out of books! A damaged or out-of-date book, instead of being recycled or sold for a fraction of its original dollar value, can be transformed into hundreds of greeting cards. The cards we make are sold in the library. All funds benefit the library. Materials are furnished, so just bring your creativity and enjoy a fun, relaxing day of crafting for a great cause. Everyone is welcome!

Donations Wanted

Never idle, our team of book sorters is preparing for our next sale, with donations from you!

We accept donations of your new or gently used books, DVDs, VHS tapes, music and audio books and CDs, puzzles, magazines, and other items. Receipts for tax purposes are available upon request.

​

• Small donations: If you have five or fewer items, you may bring them to the library
  during open library hours.

• Larger donations: For six or more items, please do not leave them in the library. Bring
  them to the Friends' Workroom door, just inside the Maple St. entrance, during
  donation hours, which are Monday and Tuesday from Noon - 2 p.m.

Another way to help the Friends help the Library

If you have a Fred Meyer rewards card and have registered your card online, go to https://www.fredmeyer.com/login, click My Account, choose Community Rewards and

follow the instructions to pick the Friends of the Siuslaw Public Library as your charity of

choice. Then, every time you shop, the Friends will receive credit, and once a quarter, a check.
