PubIic Computer Appointments
Please Note: When Lane County is designated Extreme Risk, we will not be offering computer appointments. During High Risk periods, we will be limiting each person to only one hour of computer use per week (appointment or walk-in).
How do I sign up? Call us at 541-997-3132 during library hours to request your appointment, or stop by the reference desk during browsing hours. You can call up to one business day ahead to reserve your time for the next day.
What time are the appointments? Currently we're offering two one-hour options Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM -12:30 PM and 5-6 PM.
What if I need longer than an hour? If you are taking an exam or have another need for additional time, please tell us when you call to request your appointment. We will do our best to accommodate you.
How often can I use the computers? Currently each person is limited to a single one-hour session of computer use per week.
Do you take walk-ins? Yes, if there is space available. Come to the front door a few minutes before the scheduled appointment hour and ask the lobby monitor if we have an opening.
What can I do on the computer? The regular computer functions will be available, including internet, email, Microsoft Office productions (Word and Excel), printing, etc.
What are you doing for cleaning and safety? We will be thoroughly cleaning the computer area between sessions. Staff and patrons will follow state regulations for face coverings in a public indoor space. We have separated computers to minimize contact between patrons. We have hand sanitizer stations available and strongly encourage you to clean your hands before and after computer use.
What do I need to know when I arrive? Please note the following:
Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
Please be on time. If you are more than five minutes late for your appointment, library staff may give the computer time to a waiting walk-in patron.
Line up outside on the marked area along the walkway in front of the building. Please maintain social distance.
You should arrive alone. We will not allow additional guests in the building with you without their own appointment.
We will check you in one at a time, and we'll ask if you will provide your email or phone number for voluntary contact tracing.
You should bring a face covering and wear it for the entire time you are here. We are following state regulations for public indoor spaces.
If you plan to watch something with sound, you should bring headphones.
Public restrooms are not open. Please plan accordingly.
